Forest Fire Management in Asia (FFMA) Initiative | Regional Capacity Building

Management in Asia (FFMA) Initiative | Regional Capacity BuildingThe Forest Fire Management in Asia (FFMA) Initiative is a regional collaboration between AFoCO, France, and the Republic of Korea, aimed at strengthening forest fire prevention, suppression, and management across Asia.

This initiative supports sustainable forest management and climate resilience by building both foundational and advanced capacities among frontline forest fire officers. Participants are equipped with practical knowledge and skills to serve as capacity multipliers within their institutions and home countries.

FFMA training programs are conducted across three strategic locations—Thailand, Indonesia, and Kazakhstan—covering the wider AFoCO member country region and fostering regional cooperation and knowledge exchange.

Together, we work toward a safer, more resilient Asia through stronger forest fire management.
