AFoCO admitted as observer at UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP)

November 2022—AFoCO was newly admitted as an observer organization by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and is represented at the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 27) to the UNFCCC in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. AFoCO’s delegation to COP 27 will focus on establishing partnerships and expanding networks with both government and private sector stakeholders as well as other like-minded organizations. Working towards the global goals of mitigating and adapting to climate change, AFoCO will continue to emphasize the roles of forests by promoting sustainable forest management and regional action to enhance the resilience of forests, landscapes, and communities.
