AFoCO Joined Nature Positive Declaration and Signed MOU with Partners at Korea University

Nature Positive Declaration

On 5 March 2026, the AFoCO participated in the Nature Positive Declaration Ceremony hosted by Korea University (KU) at its Sejong Campus in Jochiwon, marking a significant step toward strengthening collaboration for biodiversity conservation and sustainable development

The event brought together key institutional leaders, including the Executive Director of AFoCO, the President of Korea University, and representatives from the National Institute of Forest Science (NIFoS) and the Korea Environment Institute (KEI). The gathering served as a platform to launch a collaborative framework to advance biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable resource management in line with the global Nature Positive agenda.

The ceremony highlighted the importance of cross institutional cooperation in translating strategic priorities into concrete actions across research, policy, education, and international engagement.

MOU Signing for Further Collaboration

A key highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which formalized the partnership among the participating organizations and laid the foundation for future collaboration.

Through this partnership, the institutions are expected to foster more coordinated and impactful cooperation, strengthening their collective contribution to the Nature Positive agenda.
