Plantation site with Forestep signboard

A total of 200 keruing kertas trees (Dipterocarpus spp.) were planted in Prey Chamkar Kranhoung, Khun Ream Commune, Banteay Srey District, Siem Reap Province in Cambodia. This number is meaningful in that it represents the number of players of Forestep, GLURI’s mobile application that rewards step-based carbon reduction, plus creates a forest, thereby reducing carbon footprint.

A signboard titled ‘The First Dream Forest’ was also installed at the site, displaying the names of all participants who contributed to the forest establishment. After the tree-planting, the forest will be managed by the Forestry Administration of Cambodia to ensure its sustainability.

Under the AFoCO Green Partnership, will continue to exert efforts to reach out to new partners so that private entities like GLURI can make valuable contributions towards creating a greener Asia through sustainable forest management in cooperation with AFoCO and its member countries.
