The Secretariat is thrilled to announce a significant milestone in its mission to foster sustainable forest management and environmental conservation across Asia. The AFoCO Project Map is now live as a sub-domain on the website, marking a major step forward in the efforts to gather and present comprehensive project information from each member country.
Introducing the AFoCO Project Map
Pursuant to the approval at the Ninth Session of the Assembly, the Secretariat has developed an open map-based Information and Data Platform (IDP) for public access. This initiative aims to propagate and promote achievements of the projects of AFoCO. The IDP is expected to visualize the progress of the AFoCO Strategy 2024-2030, as well as the 10-year Climate Action Plan. The Platform is designed to improve access to and usage of project data across member countries by consolidating all AFoCO project information into a single, easily accessible location. This centralization will ensure that valuable information is not scattered across multiple sources, making it easier for stakeholders to find and use the information they need. The platform now is embedded into the AFoCO website, and its first output has been displayed with the data submitted by Project Managers.
Collaborative Efforts for Comprehensive Data
The development of this project map has been a collaborative effort between the Secretariat and the project managers of the member countries. Currently, it is under active process of updating data and information for all AFoCO projects, with a goal to complete this by the end of the year. This collective endeavor ensures that the map reflects the most accurate and up-to-date information, highlighting the progress and achievements of each project.
As continuing to update and refine the AFoCO Project Map, the Secretariat looks forward to the opportunities it will create for deeper engagement and collaboration among the members and partners. This platform represents a significant step in the journey towards a sustainable future.
“We invite you to explore the AFoCO Project Map and discover the projects underway in the member countries. The map is designed to be user-friendly, allowing you to easily navigate and find detailed information about each project. You can access the map through this link: https://map.afocosec.org/. We welcome your feedback and suggestions to further improve the map. Please let us know if you encounter any issues or if something does not work as expected ([email protected]).” |
