January 11, 2024 – The Project Inception Meeting (PIM) and the 1st Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting of the “Forest restoration demonstration through high capacity tree nursery establishment and capacity building in support to Billion Tree National Movement (BTNM) in Mongolia (AFoCO/039/2023)” project was convened virtually. The aim of the project is to establish a mechanized nursery for forest restoration in Mongolia.

The PIM was followed by the 1st Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting, where the meeting addressed the following agendas: (1) Introduction of the AFoCO Project Management, a brief presentation was provided by AFoCO Secretariat; (2) Presentation on the overall work plan and budget plan; (3) Development of Project Implementation Plan (PIP) matrix.
The PIM was followed by the 1st Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting, where the meeting addressed the following agendas: (1) Adoption of the agenda; (2) Adoption of the Rules of Procedure (RoP) of the PSC, where the AFoCO Secretariat briefly explained the rules and procedure of the project steering committee; (3) Presentation on the annual work and budget plan for 2024 was discussed during the meeting, and it was agreed to approve the plan by circulating relevant materials.
The AFoCO Secretariat expresses its gratitude to Mongolia for their efforts in preparing, evaluating, contributing, and collaborating for the organization and the PIM and PSC meeting. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with attendees believing that the project will achieve its targets and objectives. They have confidence in the leadership of the Director-General and the Project Management Team and are optimistic that the project will be successfully completed.
