Collaboration Rooted in the Forest Sector
Save the Children Korea is an international NGO dedicated to protecting child rights. Through the partnership, the two organizations aim to establish a joint response system to enhance the resilience of children and communities facing climate risks by leveraging AFoCO’s expertise in the forest sector. This includes the joint development and implementation of programs focused on disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, and environmental sustainability, along with co-financing mechanisms to support these initiatives.

Visionary Voices for the Future
“Over the past decade, we have promoted sustainable forest management and responded to climate change through restoration, conservation, and disaster management in collaboration with Asian countries,” stated Dr. Chongho Park, Executive Director of AFoCO. “Through this MoU, we hope to protect children from climate change and build resilient communities.”
Mr. Taeyoung Jung, CEO of Save the Children Korea remarked “In a world where climate change increasingly threatens children’s rights, limiting global warming to below 1.5°C is more urgent than ever. We hope this partnership will help both organizations move forward toward their shared goals of enhancing climate resilience through forests and achieving sustainable development.”
Setting the Stage for Scalable Impact
Together, AFoCO and Save the Children Korea are shaping a model for climate adaptation that prioritizes both ecosystems and people. By combining their respective strengths, AFoCO and Save the Children Korea will maximize the impact of climate action strategies. This joint effort is expected to lead the way toward more inclusive, ecosystem-based climate solutions across Asia.
