Countries: Viet Nam
Duration:  2021 - 2023 (AFoCO/022/2021)
Budget:      39,496 USD

Goal & Objectives

  • Assess the status of degraded natural forests, forest enrichment models, techniques applied, and related policies in Hoa Binh province
  • Develop appropriate technical guideline in forest enrichment using high valuable native species in Hoa Binh province based on assessment results and information attained
  • Organize technical training for relevant stakeholder
  • Build demonstration/experiment model on forest enrichment using high valuable native species

Main Activities

  • Assess the degraded natural forest status, forest enrichment models, techniques applied, and related policies in Hoa Binh province
  • Develop a technical guideline on forest enrichment using high valuable native species in Hoa Binh province based on survey results and information attained, and organize meetings to revise and enhance the draft technical guideline
  • Develop a training curriculum based on the technical guideline developed and conduct training for relevant stakeholders in Hoa Binh province
  • Select suitable sites and design the models before establishment 2ha of demonstration models

Expected Outputs

The project has four expected outputs:

  • A report to assess degraded natural forests, forest enrichment models, techniques applied, and related policies in Hoa Binh province
  • A technical guideline to enrich degraded natural forests using high valuable native species in Hoa Binh province
  • Four technical training sessions on forest enrichment using high valuable native species
  • 2 ha of demonstration enrichment models using high valuable native species
  • Two scientific research papers
