Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO)
is a treaty-based intergovernmental
organization that is committed to strengthening
forest cooperation and taking concrete actions
to promote sustainable forest management and
address the impacts of climate change.

OUR AREAS OF PRIORITIES
In delivering the actions outlined in our Strategic Priorities, we abide by the core values of partnership, member-driven, competency, transparency, equity, and sustainability. Our strategic priorities aim to empower our member countries in achieving the global goal of increasing forest cover by up to 3%, implementing the Paris Agreement on climate change, particularly in pursuit of policy approaches for adaptation in the forestry sector, and improving livelihoods and incomes through forestry-related activities.
Programs and projects in our member countries focus on the initiation of customized restoration & reforestation models, provision of support for R&D in climate change adaptation, the introduction of systematic management of forest-related disasters, as well as local livelihood improvement and community-based enterprise development.

Regular Courses
Regular courses are usually organized over a period of 5 days, combining lectures, discussions, practical exercises, and field visits.
Community Courses
Community courses are organized regularly in member countries to train local people to provide alternative income sources to sustain their livelihoods.

AFoCO offers customized forestry-related courses on a variety of forestry topics according to the needs of requesting organizations.

Landscape Partnership Asia
Landscape Partnership Asia (LPA) aims to contribute to national and international targets
in the restoration of dry forests, agricultural drylands, and drought-prone areas in Central, East, South and Southeast Asia,
with an initial 10 million hectares brought under integrated dryland and drought management by 2032.
