Revitalizing Seoul: AFoCO and Mapletree Partner to Create Citizen-Friendly Garden in Yeongdeungpo District

Seoul, Republic of Korea – A burgeoning partnership between the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) and Mapletree, a leading real estate development, investment, and capital management company, is bringing new life to the heart of Seoul. This collaboration, sparked by Mapletree’s commitment to environmental stewardship, led to the recent establishment of a citizen-friendly garden in Yeongdeungpo District.

This collaborative effort culminated in two significant events. On May 8th, an opening ceremony for the citizen-friendly garden was held, where Executive Director of AFoCO was recognized with an appreciation plaque for the organization’s pivotal role in establishing the garden alongside Mapletree.

Further solidifying the partnership, a planting ceremony took place on May 23rd, where Mapletree planted a total of 272 trees, contributing to the garden’s verdant landscape. Twelve Mapletree staff members participated in the ceremony, demonstrating the company’s dedication to hands-on environmental action.
