The Fifth Session of the Assembly was held as a regular session on 26-27 October 2021, in hybrid mode. Key decisions made during the session include the Decision on the Promotion and Enhancement of Partnership, approval of new projects, and the work plan for 2022. The Assembly advised the AFoCO to start actively engaging in the UN related meetings including the UNFCCC, UNCCD, and CBD.
The Fifth Session of the Assembly was held back to back with the 2021 Annual Thematic Dialogue, on 25 October, under the theme: “Roles of AFoCO in Unleashing the Full Potential of Forests to Meet Paris Climate Goals and Building Back Better and Greener from the COVID-19”
