On 5 April, the Executive Director of AFoCO paid a courtesy call on Mr. Ban Ki-moon, the honorary Chair of the Institute for Global Engagement and Empowerment. They shared the common vision on the importance of forestry on the global level.
Mr. Ban Ki-moon noted that forest is an important area that should be used in the efforts of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). He further added that forest definitely plays an important role in terms of tackling diverse environmental problems, including the fine dust, that we face today both in the urban and rural areas.
Appreciating the vision and goals of AFoCO, he hoped AFoCO to continue the efforts taking complementary role among the regional actors in the field.
