The KFS will continue to work together with both the Myanmar government and AFoCO in the fields of reforestation and forest disaster management,” says Dr. Kim Jae Hyun, Minister of the Korea Forest Service.

Mr. Chencho Norbu further stated that “The RETC was established in 2018 and training courses for capacity building of member countries have been conducted since 2018. This donation marks a milestone in the collaboration among the Forest Department, AFoCO and the Korea Forest Service. It will support the Myanmar government in managing forest disasters systematically.”

This donation is symbolic of AFoCO’s commitment to fostering closer cooperation with the Myanmar government to deal with issues in the forestry sector, especially in the management of forest disasters.
