Seoul, Republic of Korea – The Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) and Save the Children Korea have officially launched a joint fundraising campaign to support the My Forest Child (MFC) Mongolia project, combining efforts to restore degraded forests while helping children and local communities build resilience against climate change.
Hosted on CAMP (Climate Action Matching Platform), AFoCO’s online fundraising platform, the campaign invites individuals and organizations to take part in restoring Mongolia’s landscapes while supporting climate education and sustainable community development.
Turning Public Support into Climate Action
The campaign brings together AFoCO’s expertise in sustainable forest restoration and Save the Children’s long-standing commitment to improving children’s lives. Through this partnership, every donation contributes to practical, community-based climate action that benefits both people and nature.

Restoring Forests for Children and Communities
Mongolia is one of the countries most affected by land degradation, with approximately 76.9% of its territory impacted by desertification as of 2020. To help address these challenges, Save the Children launched the My Forest Child Mongolia project in Nalaikh District in 2024.
By 2027, the project aims to:
- Deliver climate education programs and youth climate clubs reaching more than 3,000 local residents.
- Plant 4,730 trees, including shelterbelt species and fruit trees
- Establish a 5-hectare reforestation site that supports carbon sequestration and ecosystem services

Donate Through CAMP
The fundraising campaign will run through November 2026 on CAMP, AFoCO’s Climate Action Matching Platform, which connects forest restoration projects across Asia with donors and partners seeking to create measurable environmental and social impact.
By linking on the ground restoration initiatives with public supporters, CAMP promotes greater participation in forest restoration, climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable livelihood development throughout the region.

Building on a Shared Commitment
The fundraising campaign builds on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by AFoCO and Save the Children Korea on 26 May 2025. Since then, the two organizations have continued strengthening their partnership through collaborative initiatives that promote forest restoration, climate resilience, and environmental awareness across Asia.
