Landscape Partnership Asia

What is Landscape Partnership Asia?

AFoCO’s Landscape Partnership Asia (LPA), a regional multi-stakeholder initiative launched in 2022 to advance large-scale, performance-based landscape restoration and nature-based solutions across Asia, particularly in dryland and drought-prone regions.

Bringing together partners such as the Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry (CIFOR-ICRAF), alongside the Global Evergreening Alliance and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), LPA develops investment-ready project pipelines, mobilizes finance, and facilitates technical and political collaboration among public, private, and civil society actors. Through capacity development, natural regeneration, inclusive value chain support, and active engagement in global platforms, the initiative links biodiversity conservation, climate mitigation, agricultural and ecological resilience, and sustainable livelihoods—positioning itself as a leading regional framework for transformative, landscape-level action, with thirteen countries formally expressing their commitment to participate.
