Goals & Objectives

The main objective of the project is to obtain the principles or guidelines of land-based and community-based economic revitalization to enhance disaster and climate change resilience. Specifically, the objectives are to:

  • Analyze the type and extent of existing resources and residents’ needs and priorities;
  • Identify and analyze potential benefits from possible enhanced livelihood activities;
  • Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the existing community- engagement-based economic revitalization plan and provide recommendations; and
  • Develop a community-based forest culture model that links forest recreation and local livelihoods, including developing standards involved in developing this model.

Expected Outputs

  • Existing resources in each village in Batur Geopark have been identified
  • Residents’ needs and priorities have been identified
  • Potential benefits from enhanced livelihood activities have been identified
  • Recommendations for the existing masterplan have been developed
  • Consultations on draft model conducted with Geopark, residents and the tourism sector stakeholders
  • Final draft of model and standard including implementation and recommendations developed
  • Dissemination of relevant publications
  • Finalization of report
