By investing in people, Bhutan is transforming community forestry from traditional resource stewardship into a platform for sustainable livelihoods and rural enterprise. Through strengthened governance, practical forest management skills, financial literacy, product development, and enterprise training, the project has equipped community groups to manage their forest resources more sustainably while engaging more confidently with markets. Building on these achievements, continued investment in institutionalized training, peer learning, digital advisory services, and strategic partnerships can help scale these gains and strengthen resilient, self-reliant community enterprises across Bhutan.
