Seoul, Republic of Korea – April 30, 2025 – Continuing the successful partnership of the ‘Friends of Asia and Asian Forests’ (FAAF) initiative, the AFoCO once again joined hands with its corporate partner Mapletree Korea for a tree planting event at Boramae Park in Dongjak-gu, Seoul.
This event marks the second collaboration between AFoCO and Mapletree Korea, following a similar effort in Yeongdeungpo District in 2024. As part of their ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility, Mapletree Korea staff actively participated in planting and watering trees throughout the day.

Inspiration for the planting concept was drawn directly from Mapletree Korea’s corporate identity. A variety of maple trees—including Acer pseudosieboldianum, Acer palmatum var. atropurpureum, and Acer palmatum ‘Bloodgood’—were carefully selected and planted across the site. A total of 63 maple trees were planted, taking into consideration the site’s partially shaded conditions. The planting layout was designed to complement the elongated shape of the area, allowing joggers and pedestrians to enjoy scenic views of the trees as they pass by.
Significant attention was also given to soil enhancement, as the area was found to have poor soil quality. Soil conditioners and ground cover plants were applied to ensure the healthy establishment and long-term growth of the newly planted trees.
